Do you know what these are and how to set yours up?

LinkedIn Company Pages are some of the most powerful sites on the Internet. Not only can you introduce your company to interested individuals, the site can direct a person to your product or job pages geared to that particular person. If you look at the chart from last year from LeadFormix, you will see that about as many visitors view company pages as view groups and the news.

There are over 2 million companies on LinkedIn so you will need to do some work in order to stand out to potential job seekers, potential customers, purchasing managers, current clients and interested observers. Your LinkedIn followers receive information and news about your company on their individual profiles. People wanting to know more about your company do not even need to leave LinkedIn to learn more about what your company is doing.

Four reasons to create your LinkedIn Company Page are:

  • Your Company Page gives LinkedIn members a place to learn more about your company, your culture, your products and services without leaving LinkedIn. Depending on what they are looking for, you can make sure that your company provides them with a tailored message. It’s like leaving your business cards on the counter at a brick and mortar business.

  • You already have a following for your company on your website, Facebook and Twitter. Those who are members of LinkedIn can be invited to become followers of your Company Page, which will provide them with a wealth of tools to increase engagement that other social media don’t have.

  • Nothing beats word-of-mouth recommendations for generating new business. When a person is looking to make buying decisions, recommendations from friends, peers and colleagues are far more influential than marketing messages on your website or testimonials from strangers.  Each time a Linkedin member recommends your products or services, his recommendation becomes visible to all his connections and can spread virally. When you promote these recommendations, you have a showcase of credible authentic endorsements of your products. People can look up the person who made the recommendation and see his profile.

  • Finally, job seekers, especially passive ones, turn to LinkedIn for professional insights. Your Company Page Careers Tab will be one of the first places they will look to before responding to a recruiter or researching a potential job opportunity. If you are constantly in need of workers, it is worthwhile to invest in a premium LinkedIn Careers Page to share video, images and customized content modules with potential job seekers. Your page will automatically highlight your most relevant job positions based on each viewer’s background.
