Three Ways to Position Your Brand

Posted by Jaco Grobbelaar on Thu, Jan 19, 2012 @ 06:09 PM

Do you want to stand out from your competition? You have to develop a remarkable slogan. You are going to want to project mental images of your brand, something that is difficult to forget.

Why is it important to work on your brand? Because your brand can work for you or against you. If you don’t take the time to come up with something unique, you will not be remembered when a customer is ready to convert.

Here are three things you need for your brand to become special.

    1. You need a cool logo (brand). Not all businesses have one, but they don’t get the business either. You can even get a logo designed for you for little money.  On the other hand if you have thousands of dollars, you can pay that much for one. After you have that logo, you want to put it everywhere, on your signs, your letterhead, your business cards, website, invoices, packaging, email signature, etc. You get the idea.

    1. Customer experience is next and is very important. If you are an eBook writer you want to have testimonials on your website. If you are a brick and mortar business, you can have people talking about you on social media using their smart phones, blogging, tweeting, or going on Foursquare. You get that kind of response when you give your customers consistent and positive experiences when they come in contact with your brand. Be careful, just one bad experience can weaken your brand. Someone can get on Twitter and broadcast their displeasure around the world. You can recover from this, so if it happens don’t panic.

    1. Another way to have that perfect brand is how you promote your brand. You can put information on a blog, on the banner of every page of your m-commerce page, all places the written word goes, on social media, basically where ever there are people in your niche.

Once you have developed your brand and put it into action, you have to protect it like a mother lioness through all your words and actions. It takes a long time to build a solid brand and only minutes to destroy it. Whether you brand a company, a product or it’s your own personal brand, people will make decisions based on how they see it. And how they see it depends on you.

How have you developed your brand and put it into action? Are you satisfied with it?
