Believe it or not, being consistent is an important part of your business. Just consider how many times people advised you to be consistent; to be consistent in the delivery of your products or services or to be consistent in the  quality of your products and services – all of this to keep customers coming back. And yes, you need to be consistently friendly to your clients, customers, and prospects…..

But did you know that you need to be consistent on the internet?

You want people to read your blogs, your Facebook postings and Twitter tweets.

So, how does consistency help you grow and keep an online following?

Consistency in publishing: Decide to publish on a consistent schedule. Whether you blog three times a week or once a month, you need to do so consistently. How often do you want fans to check your Facebook page to see if you have some new discount or special? If you publish consistently, people will know that you keep your page fresh and that new and engaging content are available.  Tweeting on occasion will never garner you a following. However, tweeting regularly every day may lead to good results. Here are a few suggestions to increase your chances on success:

    1. Create a calendar that has the days and times that you are going to post to your blog, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, for example.

    1. Add a note to your calendar that you will conduct an evaluation in two months.

    1. After evaluating your results, tweak your plan and record the changes on your  calendar - along with a new evaluation in another two months. Shampoo, rinse and repeat.

Lastly, a word of caution. There are so many interruptions in a day that tasks  can easily be forgotten. So, make sure you keep that “To Do” list not only close by but that you adhere to the priorities you’ve set for yourself on the list.

Are you already consistent in doing your online tasks? Have you considered how to become more consistent?
